So this is me. Saying hello to you and inviting you into my world via my tiny piece of the endless expanse of the internet. But why are you here?
You may have stumbled across this website by direction or by default, but whatever you're looking for right now, it might just be offering you a solution. I hope to be able to help, advise, support, motivate and provide the chance to change. But who am I? (Just skip to the chance to change section if you're not all that bothered, I won't take offence.) I am a wife to a man I've loved since I was 19 years old. I am a mother to our two young boys. I am a consumer journalist. I am a runner (when it's not too wet outside!). I like to eat as clean as possible and live a healthy lifestyle. But only 80% of the time, because I love chocolate too much to give it up entirely. I am also a business woman. But this is my latest addition to the list. I've always been career driven, but then the boys came along and we all know how the rest goes... If you don't, the short version is I wanted to give it all up to be with the children, but I couldn't because we had more mouths to feed and a bigger house to run. It's a silly system really... So I decided to take a leap of faith and follow a different path. I knew that something had to change, and it was up to me to change it. I set up a business as an intrapreneur; basically an entrepreneur under the safe umbrella of an already established brand. This meant it was not risky like a usual high-cost business, meaning I didn't have to put everything we had on the line to potentially watch it wash down the drain. Count me in! A business with small start-up costs, which anyone, anywhere can do, I choose when and how much I work, everything is taught to me and I can fit the business around my boys, rather than ship them off to expensive day care. As well as providing an income, running my business also gives me pockets of time for me; where I could be more than just mum. I am able to use my brain again beyond train sets and make believe, and have found my former passion and drive for success. But the bonus is that I am supporting my family with it at the same time and building an asset for our now very bright futures. Was I busy? Absolutely. I was working as a writer, finding my feet as a new mum and learning how to grow my business. But as the old saying goes, if you want to do something you find the time, if not you'll find an excuse. I now own a global business, because I found a few spare hours each week. Today, I no longer work, because my business has more than replaced that income. And my short-term busyness has paid off in the long term as I now have more time freedom to do as I wish. I manage my own schedule and get to work with likeminded men and women. I train and mentor my business partners to help them achieve their own success. I am more positive. I believe I can achieve whatever I put my mind to and this is engrained in my children also. Because I showed that by putting your mind to something, you can do it. I am showing them that if you work hard for your dreams, they will come true. My main aim now is to help people get started in their new venture and offer my advice, support and guidance to help them become successful.
